The Center for Dependency, Addiction and Rehabilitation (CeDAR) is UCHealth’s premier facility for addiction treatment in Colorado. Our innovative, evidence-based, inpatient and outpatient programs not only save lives, they provide a meaningful foundation for long-term recovery from addiction. We are the only treatment center in the state that has an embedded academic center as its foundational component.

What to Know
With over 10,000 treatment programs in the United States alone, it can feel overwhelming to figure out which one is right for you. Here are some important questions to ask before choosing a treatment center for you or a loved one:
Do you facilitate rapid access to treatment?
Yes. CeDAR’s admission department is open 7 days per week with the goal of providing you with access to care within 24 hours of your initial call. We are often able to facilitate an admission the same day of the initial phone call.
How do you determine what level of care is most appropriate?
We base our determinations on the ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) criteria, which is a comprehensive set of guidelines for placements, continued stay, transfer or discharge of patients with addiction and co-occurring conditions.

Do you assess for and treat mental health conditions?
Yes. Our Addiction Psychiatry team will complete a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and will recommend treatment goals based on this evaluation. Your multidisciplinary treatment team will provide care for your physical, psychological, and spiritual needs.

Do you prescribe medications to treat addictions?
Yes. We offer evidence-based medications. These typically include buprenorphine containing products such as Suboxone or Sublocade. For Opioid Use Disorder, we provide buprenorphine treatment (Suboxone, Subutex, Sublocade(long-acting injectable), naltrexone (including Vivitrol). For Alcohol Use Disorder, we provide naltrexone (Vivitrol), acamprosate, disulfiram, and other medications.
Will my treatment plan be personalized?
Yes. Based on the multidisciplinary assessment process, you and your treatment team will collaborate to create goals for your individualized care.
Do you provide community recovery support during and after treatment?
Yes, by way of a variety of mutual-aid recovery groups including 12-Step, SMART Recovery, Recovery Dharma. Additionally, CeDAR offers a variety support groups for CeDAR alumni.
Are you accredited by The Joint Commission?
Yes. CeDAR is accredited by The Joint Commission. The standards set out by the Joint Commission focus on state-of-the-art performance improvement strategies that help health care organizations continuously improve the safety and quality of care.
